1. Choosing a group
a
string quartet is really solemn and melancholy for your wedding vows, they are perfect for small gatherings where intimacy
is a must. However, some find them dull and boring at receptions ( except if your audience is all "upper society people" )
a brass ensemble or quintet is majestic and sounds medieval, but can only play at church ceremonies. They
are perfect combined with a trio or quartet, as well as a wedding band to play for your reception. Your wedding vows will
be like a 11th or 12th century wedding! For the extremist, you may dress up like kings and queens being wed as the brass quintet
plays bridal chorus, canon in d or Mendelssohn's wedding march.
a wedding
band on the other hand lightens up the mood at receptions and paves way for your guests to party. During the church ceremony,
we may send you a pianist and one or two singers.
BEST is to have a string
quartet or brass ensemble at church ceremony and a wedding jazz band or rnb/pop/ show band at reception, but this comes at
a price. For those on a tight budget, but still wants a one-of-a-kind wedding, we employ the services of our premier jazz group
B Concept with the addition of a violinist to play for the church ceremony or the brass ensemble for the entourage.
2. Budget
most class A musicians have higher rates as a result
of years of playing and mastery of their craft. low budgeted musicians can also play beautifully but to only a few mastered
pieces. ALSO, BE CAREFULL! most musicians provide you with their best, dubbed, and
edited audio or video cds. some providers even hire professional sessionists at their venues to demonstrate good performance,
but send low budgeted beginners on your wedding day.
3. music/song selections
you have song selections and preferences,
for your couples first dance, entourage, bridal march, cake cutting, etc. We suggest you make your list first, then see if
it is more classical ( string quartet) or more danceable (wedding band)
SO HOW
DO I GO ABOUT THIS?
We at WEDplus provide quality professional musicians
on your big day. We DO NOT ACCEPT MULTIPLE GIGS IN A DAY to prevent shortage of good quality musicians.
On the other hand, those who are on a tight budget but still wants quality STRING QUARTET for the church ceremony
and WEDDING JAZZ BAND for the reception, we utilize the services of our premier wedding jazz band (B Concept), and ADD a violinist
and Double Bassist( now called WEDplus All Stars!).
By using the services of the
singers, guitarists and pianists for both church and reception, plus the the bassist and violinist, a string-group-wedding-jazz-band-in-one
is formed!
